Every canvas exists only once — a moment captured in color, line, and instinct.
Layered interior paint forms the background, over which abstract tribal lines are hand-drawn with oil-based paint markers. There are no sketches, no plans, no duplicates. Mistakes are not erased; they become part of the story, shaping the work into what it wants to be.
There is no top or bottom — how it hangs, how it lives, how it moves through a space is yours to decide. Owning it means holding a singular, one-of-a-kind moment in time, alive only in your hands and your space.
Co-op Governance & Your Voice
As a Member, you're not just a customer. You're part of how City Market is run. Members elect the Board of Directors, attend monthly meetings and gather annually to reflect on the Co-op's progress and direction. It's democracy in action, right here in Burlington.
Run or Vote for the Board of Directors
One of the benefits of being a Co-op Member, and one of our seven cooperative principles, is the ability to elect the Co-op's Board of Directors each year. Members seeking a greater impact can also run for the Board and help shape the Co-op's future.
Board Meetings — Attend Monthly Meetings
City Market Members are welcome to attend monthly Board meetings. Meetings are held virtually except for March, June, September, and December, which are held in-person in the South End Community Room. To access upcoming meetings, email our Membership team at membership@citymarket.coop.
Annual Member Meeting
Every fall, City Market Members are invited to gather with the Co-op community and reflect on the past year's successes and challenges while looking ahead to new opportunities.
At the meeting, Members hear from the Board Chair and General Manager, meet Members running for the Board ahead of elections in October and celebrate the winner of the Community Service Award in Honor of Don Schramm.
