No, you don’t need to be a City Market Member to shop at the Co-op–all are welcome! Though there are many benefits of being a City Market Member. 

When you become a Member of the Co‑op, not only does Membership pay for itself with savings year-round, but you also gain access to great benefits inside our store and in the community.

Yes, City Market accepts SNAP/EBT. 

We also have a Food For All Membership discount program that provides a 15% discount in our Produce and Bulk departments as well as a 10% discount storewide to anyone who participates in:

• 3SquaresVT
• Federal Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women
• Infants and Children (WIC),
• Supplemental Security Income/Social Security Disability Insurance (SSI/SSDI).

A cooperative or co-op is a business that is "run for the people, by the people." Cooperatives value self-help, self-responsibility, democracy, equality, equity and solidarity. Membership is different at a Co-op than at a privately-owned discount club in that Co-ops are created to meet the needs of their Members and are owned and governed by their Members. 

Additionally, Co-ops are a community-focused alternative business model. Co-ops can help transform the food system so that farmers receive a fair price for their products, shoppers can purchase products that align with their environmental and social values, and connections are created to make a stronger community.

Joining the City Market Co-op is easy! You can either join online, at our Customer Service desk, or any register at either store location.

Yes! We have cafés in both stores that you are welcome to enjoy breakfast, lunch, dinner and beyond! 

Our ready-to-eat food is prepared by world-class chefs daily for our hot & cold food bar, salad bar, soup bar, and deli. Enjoy a custom-made sandwich or fuel up with locally roasted coffee or fair-trade tea. In a hurry? Our Grab & Go pre-made salads, sandwiches, sushi and hot and cold meals are perfect.

Yes! You can order groceries online for same-day delivery through City Market’s Instacart.

Anytime you check out at City Market, you can choose to round up your total to the nearest dollar. 

Each month, we support Feeding Champlain Valley and other organizations working to strengthen our community through Rally for Change. With thousands of each day across both stores, we all have the opportunity to rally for community-wide change.

City Market’s flexible catering options allow you to book catering for pickup or delivery. We can also design a custom menu beyond our robust offerings, tailored to your specific needs. 

Our Catering department specializes in carefully crafted party platters, creative deli salads, top-of-the-line sandwiches and more, made with locally sourced ingredients.
