City Market is governed by a nine-Member Board of Directors, elected by Members each October. The Board sets the Co-op's direction, hires and oversees the General Manager, and ensures City Market stays accountable to the Burlington community it serves.

About the Board
City Market, Onion River Co-op's Board of Directors is responsible for steering the direction of the cooperative with the guidance of our Membership. Board Members work together to:
Define the Co-op's goals (or "Ends") and monitor performance in relation to the Ends
Hire and supervise the General Manager who is accountable to the Board for business operations
Set and monitor the policies by which the Board and the General Manager operate
Meet the Board
Our Board consists of nine Members, elected from the general Membership. Elections are held annually in October, and Directors are elected for a term of three years. Terms begin in January. All current, shareholding Co-op Members may vote in and also apply to run in the Board elections.
