Join us for the start of our next series of cooking classes at the Intervale Center! For this class, Melissa Pasanen will teach us some vegetarian favorites to cook on your grill.

Prior to that, she was food editor for Vermont Life magazine and a regular contributor to the Burlington Free Press. She has authored or co-authored three cookbooks, including the New York Times notable cookbook, Cooking with Shelburne Farms: Food and Stories from Vermont. Her work has been published in The New York Times, USA Today, Saveur, EatingWell, and on Foodnetwork.com, among many others.
Class will be held outdoors at the Intervale Center and participants must wear close-toed shoes.
5:30pm - 7:30pm
It's the start of the growing season in Vermont, and what better way to use those fresh veggies than some fun ferments. It's a great way to add nutrition and flavor to your cooking, and get creative in the kitchen.
Learn some of the history and basics of veggie fermenting from Julia of Pitchfork Pickle, then follow along to make your own! We'll discuss basic rules, troubleshooting, tips and tricks of fermentation, then test them out by making your own ferment in the Kitchen to bring home.
This class will be held in person at the South End City Market location, and materials will be provided.
