Mango-Coconut Smoothie

This naturally sweetened smoothie is great for breakfast or a midday snack. Accompany it with a piece of whole-wheat toast or granola.

Ingredients

1 can coconut milk (low fat)
2 cups mango, frozen
1 banana, frozen
1 tablespoon ginger, fresh (peeled and chopped)
1 1⁄2 tablespoons flax seed
1⁄4 teaspoon turmeric, ground
1⁄4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

Place all the ingredients, in order, in a blender and secure the lid. Blend, increasing the speed to high, until ingredients are very smooth.

Serve immediately.
