Butterworks Farm
Use Butterworks Farm buttermilk, cream or yogurt. When in season, try adding raspberries from Adam's Berry Farm into the filling between the layers. Yum!

Ingredients
2 ounces chocolate, unsweetened
1 1⁄2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1⁄2 teaspoon salt
1⁄2 cup butter
1 cup sour cream
2 egg
1 1⁄4 cups flour, all-purpose
Instructions
Grease and flour 2- 8” cake pans or 1-deep 10’ rectangular pan or spring form. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Melt chocolate and butter together in double boiler. Mix eggs, sour cream (this is actually best with cream that is gone by, out of date and a little past its prime), and vanilla. Cool chocolate slightly and add to egg/cream mixture. Mix dry ingredients with wire whisk and add to the rest.
Bake 30 minutes at 350 degrees, or till done. Cool on racks and frost with whipped cream or your favorite icing.
Notes
This cake is also delicious with berries or fruit purée between the layers.
