Advice from the Aisles: Holiday Essentials
By Hailey Neal, Wellness Department
It’s the holiday season and Burlington is a flurry. So, when you’re dragging yourself around from shop to shop, don’t forget you can pick up more than a few of your holiday essentials right here, since we all know we end up at City Market sooner or later. If it's gifts you’re after, check out our incense and candle section where you’ll find a store favorite, the Seracon maple candles. These candles, which come in a recycled maple syrup tin, have a wooden wick so they crackle as they burn. Not to mention, they smell up the whole house like a maple cookie.
Or maybe, you’ll want to try on our Andes Gifts. Maybe a warm knitted hat for a friend and some leg warmers for yourself while you’re at it. Anything warm and fuzzy is always a justifiable expense, and they’re fair trade, hand-made year round by women in Bolivia and Peru. When all else fails, get clean with some of our delicious Vermont-made soaps by Chasworth Farms, River’s Edge, and Wild Hill. You can even make an assortment and present it in one of our hand-made African baskets displayed around the wellness area.
However you’re celebrating this season, may you navigate the crowds swiftly and peacefully, and as always, be well.
