Local Feature: Rebecca's Makes Sense
Rebecca's Makes Sense all started in 2011 when Rebecca was the Clinical and Residential Director for a Therapeutic Residential Treatment Center that closed. She then had the choice of continuing in the human service field or doing something that was more in tune with her creative side. Rebecca had always enjoyed and been involved in various creative pursuits such as making soaps, candles, cards, jewelry, gardening, writing, and cooking. While making her own soaps and spending time in the kitchen, she started getting concerned with the amount of synthetic ingredients and chemicals that people put on their bodies as well as what is consume through food.
Another concern Rebecca had was the high price of good hair and body care products and she felt people should be able to buy a good product without it costing them dearly. With her husband’s help, they decided to start their own business to make a sulfate, paraben, phthalate, petrochemical and synthetic preservative free product line that featured nourishing seed oils and botanicals. They began playing with formulas for the different products, making changes as needed and then started selling at craft fairs and in a few stores in 2013. In August 2013, they began the internet business selling RMS products and have slowly expanded their retail presence in Vermont and in a few other states over the last year and a half.
Rebecca's Makes Sense is committed to creating high quality natural products derived from plant based ingredients that work with your hair and skin to repair, replenish, and renew.
