January Wine Picks Under $10
This month we are featuring two Australian wines that have become crowd favorites here at City Market. Banrock Station is a vineyard that is devoted to making great, affordable wine, all while giving back as much as they can to promote sustainability and conservation. In the past ten years, they have donated almost $5 million to over 130 environmental conservation projects, spanning 13 countries.
Banrock Station Chardonnay is a fantastic example of an oaked chardonnay that is still crisp and refreshing. The oak is very subtle, and imparts notes of sweet vanilla to the finish. The body is medium to full, with flavors of peach, melon, and honeydew. Banrock Station Shiraz / Cabernet Sauvignon is a very well balanced, soft, medium-bodied red. This slightly peppery, lightly oaked blend boasts flavors of plum, raspberry, and blueberry alongside notes of sage and thyme.
