Kids at City Market

Hunger Free Vermont is an education and advocacy organization with the mission to end the injustice of hunger and malnutrition for all Vermonters. Incorporated in 1993, Hunger Free Vermont worksto ensure there are healthful meals wherever children are throughout their days, that adults and seniors have the resources to feed themselves and their families in the home, and that all communities have access to nutrition education. The organization’s broad-based education and advocacy efforts provide focused outreach on the school meals program, 3SquaresVT (formerly known as food stamps), afterschool and summer meals programs, and the program that feed kids in child care. Their Learning Kitchen program teaches low-income children and families how to cook nutritious meals on a small budget. Hunger Free Vermont believes this approach will provide regular access to food through dignified means and traditional channels, creating a socially sustainable model where access to nutritious food is built into the fabric of all communities.
