Patronage Notice - Please Send Us Address Updates

Patronage Refunds checks will be issued on November 9 and should arrive in your mailbox shortly thereafter! Please be sure we have your most up-to-date address by November 1 so that your check gets to you successfully. Please send updates to Jarred Cobb, City Market’s Member Services Coordinator, at jcobb@citymarket.coop or call him at 861-9707.

With your Refund check, you will receive a flyer sharing more information about Patronage. Some brief details: you can cash and enjoy your check by February 9, return your check to City Market to donate to Hunger Free Vermont or pay equity, or choose not to cash your check and the proceeds will be donated to the Intervale Center.

Each year, uncashed Patronage Refunds are donated to support the local food system. This year, we’ve chosen the Intervale Center as the recipient. Over the past 24 years, the Intervale Center has transformed 350 acres in the Intervale. This land provides residents with delicious food and extensive open space for recreation and exercise, as well as preserving native wetlands and wildlife corridors in the heart of Burlington, Vermont. Funds received from uncashed patronage refund checks will:

• Enhance the Intervale Center’s stewardship of the Intervale, including non-farmed areas, trails and wildlife areas;  
• Support opportunities for beginning farmers -- including refugee farmers – to access land and grow their farm businesses;
• Allow exploration of opportunities for expanding food production in the greater Intervale; and
• Help more community members access great local food and opportunities to create and develop farm businesses -- and have fun outdoors!
