Results of the Lunch Tray Campaign

We recently completed a ten day donation campaign held June 21 through June 30 to benefit Hunger Free Vermont’s child nutrition programs. Customers had the opportunity to give a suggested donation of $1 to Hunger Free Vermont and sign a paper “lunch tray” that read “I Fed a Child”. Our goal was to raise $3,000 during the ten days.

The results? Co-op customers donated $3,261 to Hunger Free Vermont! The “lunch tray” cards were on display in the store throughout the week to show Co-op patrons’ support for ending childhood hunger in Vermont. “We are excited about the success of our second annual donation and education campaign partnership with City Market,” remarks Marissa Parisi, Executive Director at Hunger Free Vermont. “Not only are we raising money to address child nutrition throughout the state, but we are also educating the general public about hunger in Vermont and the solutions that exist.”

Also, congratulations to Ismail for selling the most lunch trays and a big thank you to all of our Front End staff for making this campaign such a success!
