Earlier this month, during the We ♥ Local Food Savory Carrot Recipe Competition period, we gave City Market customers the opportunity to support local farms at the checkout line, and goodness did you respond! For just $1 a piece, customers pledged their support of the Intervale Center by purchasing an Intervale Heart. As the week progressed, we were thrilled to see so many names go up on the walls around the Co-op. A total of 3,081 hearts were purchased! Thank you!
Joyce Cellars, the Intervale Center’s Community Relations Manager, was thrilled by City Market’s second annual Intervale “hearts” campaign. “These funds are crucial as we work to transform the local food system,” she said, adding, “2012 is a big year for the Intervale Center, and we look forward to updating City Market members on our progress.” Learn more about their work at www.intervale.org.
