March Wines Under $10
Customers who frequent our wine department may have noticed that Alison the wine buyer is a big fan of New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc! We always have lots of this intensely flavorful, white varietal from which to choose. New Zealand is known for its signature style of Sauvignon Blanc, but they also produce a unique style of Pinot Noir. New Zealand Pinot Noir is sometimes a bit lighter bodied than a California or Oregon Pinot, but has the same characteristic raspberry notes and hints of smoky earth.
In March, we are delighted to feature two New Zealand wines from Tiki Sound – a Sauvignon Blanc and a Pinot Noir. Both are a great value at $9.99. Tiki Sound Sauvignon Blanc has classic racy and refreshing citrus flavors and bright acidity. Herbal aromas lead to grassy grapefruit flavors. Tiki Sound Sauvignon Blanc is a great match with aromatic and spicy Thai food, veggie dishes, sushi or poultry.
Tiki Sound Pinot Noir boasts perfumed and floral aromas of violets, lavender and licorice with a light underlying smokiness. On the palate, dark berry compote flavors blend seamlessly with hints of spice and savory notes. This Pinot Noir is very versatile with a silky, elegant finish.
