FRESH Film and Reception for Food & Wine Film Festival
Join the Intervale Center and City Market for a special reception Sunday, May 16 from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. with FRESH film director and producer, ana Sophia joanes. Tickets to the pre-event reception at Bluebird Tavern include snacks and admission to the 7:30 p.m. screening of FRESH at the Roxy Theater. All proceeds benefit the Intervale Center.
FRESH is a movie about the people and communities across America who are re-inventing our food system. As Michael Pollan writes, "We all know about the problems with the American food system, but what about the solutions? FRESH is a bracing, even exhilarating look at the whole range of efforts underway to renovate the way we grow food and feed ourselves."
Director ana Sophia joanes recently visited Burlington and spoke as part of the Co-op’s spring member meeting. Joanes has traveled the country to connect with inspiring people, ideas, and initiatives. FRESH features interviews with visionaries like urban farmer Will Allen; Kansas City supermarket owner David Ball; bestselling author Michael Pollan; and Joel Salatin of Polyface Farms (made famous by Pollan's bestseller The Omnivore's Dilemma).
On Sunday, May 16, from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m., City Market and the Intervale Center would like to invite you to join us for delicious local snacks and a chat with director ana Sophia joanes at Bluebird Tavern.
