Edmunds Middle School Navigators Learn to Love Local
City Market and Edmunds Middle School have been working together inspiring students to become engaged in their community. The five-year collaboration is one of the partnerships supporting the Burlington School Food Project, a program to increase food education and whole/fresh/local foods in our school's cafeterias.
Recently Edmunds Middle School students worked with Megan O'Rourke from Channel 17 to learn how to make a Public Service Announcement (PSA) television commercial at City Market. They demonstrated how they can relate what they learn in the classroom into the community. Change in our community, especially we at City Market hope for change in the food system by supporting more local farms, can happen with our young people.
