A Great Question Posed by a Customer!
A customer recently asked us a really great question regarding our refigeration system in City Market:
"Why don't you have clear plastic strips over your fridges to keep the cold in?"
And Brent, our Facilities Manager/Guru had this to say:
Answer:
"Our refrigeration cases do not have clear strips because they are designed to blow cold air straight down from the top, then the air gets sucked back in at the bottom creating an air curtain. So with the air curtain we are able to recycle the cool air and keep an invisible barrier between the inside and outside of the case. At night we have econocover curtains that hold the cool air in the cases.
We do use clear strips in our walkin cooler entrances and entrance to our loading dock."
