Holiday Trees to Benefit COTS
It's time for the 12th annual Holiday Tree sale to benefit COTS. The holiday trees available for only $30 (all sizes) will be on sale starting December 9 until supplies last.
City Market staff, Co-op members and community volunteers will be on hand to assist customers with trees in the early evenings and on weekends.
Since the event began, City Market has been able to donate over $44,000 to COTS. According to COTS, $18 covers a night of emergency shelter for an adult at the Waystation. The Waystation is seeing an average of 33 people a night. $50 pays for two new backpacks and school supplies for two children in their family shelters. In the past year, 95 families stayed at the Main Street, Firehouse, or Champlain family shelters, including 135 parents and 171 children.
Sugarbush Resort is also getting into the holiday giving season by providing each customer that purchases a Holiday Tree for COTS with a two-for-one free voucher to ski or ride Sugarbush Resort’s Mt. Ellen.
