Al Larsen is an artist working in and across multiple media. The pieces in this show reference ideas about community, food systems and the natural systems on which we depend as humans. They are created using a cyanotype (blueprint) photographic process and combine words and images. To create each piece, paper or fabric is coated with a light-sensitive solution and placed in sunlight with objects arranged on it. After exposing to sunlight and rinsing in water, a rich blue shadow image is produced.
