July and August South End Member Artist - Amy Jelen

After working in stained glass for many years, Amy found inspiration in a local collage artist’s work and began trying out working in this medium. Amy’s collage works mimic in some way her stained glass style, with the use of tiny pieces creating larger scenes. Inspired by colors and patterns found in the pages of magazines, she creates abstract pieces, imagined landscapes, and recognizable Vermont scenes. 

Amy Jelen is a self-taught artist living in Burlington with her husband, 12-year-old daughter, and the family hamster, Penny.
