You Can Help - Flood Relief 2024

It Happened Again

It seems too cruel to be real – exactly one year after flooding ravaged our state, we’re once again seeing emergency harvests, farms under water, damaged farm vehicles and buildings, and washed-out roads. Beryl's last gasp cut an east-west swath through the middle of the state, impacting at least 10 of the farms we source from. We’re committed to standing by these farms and all our local producers through their recovery – in addition to working behind the scenes, we’ll be dedicating our 50% Rally for Change partnership in August to flood recovery.

As the impacts of climate change become more severe, it’s more important than ever that we all stick together, support one another, and contribute to keeping our local food system vibrant and resilient. We're proud of our many Members who stepped up to help with last year's flood recovery, and who work toward systemic change year-round. Want to help? Here are some ways to get started:

  1. Buy from - or donate directly to - affected farms and producers.
  2. Volunteer at affected areas.
  3. Donate directly to recovery funds.

Find details for each of these pathways below!

Volunteer

The State of Vermont has created a volunteer registry specifically to support Vermonters affected by flooding.

You can follow community needs on Facebook through the VT Flooding 2023 Response and Recovery Mutual Aid Group, which is back up and running for this year's needs.

We'll update this list as needs become known.
