The Mosaic of Flavor cooking series is a collaboration between City Market and USCRI Vermont (US Committee for Refugees and Immigrants Vermont, formerly the Vermont Refugee Resettlement Program). In January, we will welcome instructor Mashaer Issa Away Alfake Abaid, who is from Sudan. Mashaer will teach us to make three of her family's favorite recipes. Together, we will make Sudanese Gheema, a minced beef and potato dish made with fried vegetables and spices, and a fresh salad typically eaten with Gheema. Mashaer will also teach us to make Khubz Baladi Sudani, a popular Sudanese flatbread that is easy to make and is often served with Gheema. Mashaer and her family moved to Vermont in February, 2022. Mashaer is excited to share her family's recipes with us.

Class will be held in-person in the South End Community Room. All ticket fees will be sent to USCRI to aid in their mission.
