This class has been sold out!
Join us for a class exploring the cuisine and history of the Vikings of Scandinavia. We’ll discuss the historic food systems of Northern Europe, get a brief history of the Viking age, imagining what a Viking chef would have in their larder and how to imaginatively recreate a Viking meal with what we find. We’ll also learn how to make the best gravlax at home, do some cooking over open fire, and discuss how to make your own mead (honey wine) at home. Please note, due to COVID-19 and physical distancing recommendations, hands-on learning opportunities may not be possible in a given class depending on the required meal preparation. Richard Witting is a Chef, Anthropologist and Burlington native with a passion for the intersection of food, culture and history.
