Weed-a-Thon at Pitchfork Farm!
It’s been a soggy start to summer for everyone, especially for farmers in the Intervale. Pitchfork Farm needs a little extra help pulling weeds to make way for new crops and help covering their greenhouse. Eric and Rob need 20-30 volunteers to help out. We can’t think of a better way to spend a few hours this Independence Day weekend than to give a boost to our local, independent farmers!
Please dress appropriately for the weather and the mosquitoes – wear long pants, sleeves, and boots, and bring water, work gloves and bug spray. Refreshments will be provided courtesy of City Market.
RSVP for the Weed-a-Thon with chelsea@intervale.org by Wednesday afternoon. City Market Member Workers will receive hours for their volunteer time.
Getting to Pitchfork Farm:
Head down Intervale Road off Riverside Avenue and continue past the Intervale Center onto the dirt road. You will pass the McNeil Plant and Intervale Community Farm on your left. Turn left at the big yellow gate and continue down the road until you see the sign marked “Pitchfork Farm.” Park in the field.
