Every culture has its favorite dishes cooked for family gatherings and special occasions. In this class we will learn to make a beloved Somali recipe for curried chicken soup and chapati, flatbreads that are perfect for dipping (rice will be available, as well). Zeinab Bulle and Madina Dayo are Somali Bantu friends who live in Burlington and have cooked together many times over the years. This meal, redolent with spices that reflect Somalia’s long tradition of trade, is perfect for large gatherings and also a favorite family meal. A Mosaic of Flavors classes are held in collaboration with the Vermont Refugee Resettlement Program.
