Oh Yes, Strawberries Are Here
It's been just 10 short weeks since City Market volunteers helped cover the hoop house at a Crop Mob at Adam's Berry Farm on March 27th.
Hard to believe we've gone from this.....
City Market volunteers help cover the hoop house on a cold spring day in March.
to this:
June 7th, 2011 - Local strawberries are here!
There's been a lot of rain and flooding in between. Adam says that if predictions are correct, this will be the most flooding in the Intervale he's ever witnessed.
April 29th - Adam's Berry Farm is underwater (you can see the hoop house in the background).
Still, nature perseveres...
...blossoms...
...and has an amazing way of surprising us with its seasons pleasures, year after year. Just like autumn leaves, local strawberries never get old!
End of May: Adam's first strawberries from his hoop house.
Ah, breakfast will be so much better with local berries!
Buttermilk waffles with the last of the rhubarb sauce.
